This 1958 Monk Triple Deck Cruiser is a 41-foot wooden cruiser built around a design that emphasizes stability and fuel efficiency. The hull has been substantially rebuilt by Abernethy & Gaudin Boatbuilders, with several ribs sistered, keel-bolts renewed, and planking replaced where needed. Through-hulls are modern Marelon fittings. The boat runs on a single Cummins 6BTA diesel producing 220 horsepower, paired with a ZF-280 gearbox and a 1.5-inch Aquamat propeller. At cruising speed of 8 knots the engine turns just 1,250 RPM and burns less than 10 liters per hour.
The main saloon is expansive, with generous windows and port and starboard entryways that flood the space with light. A standout feature is the broad upper deck, shaded by removable Sunbrella canopy on stainless steel frames, offering 360-degree visibility from the helm and serving as the primary social gathering area. The galley is fully equipped with two refrigerator-freezer units, stainless steel sink, and a propane stove with oven. Two cabins provide accommodation: a forward double with head and shower, and an aft master queen with its own head and shower.
Systems throughout are modern and well-maintained. The 3.5-kilowatt generator, house batteries (replaced 2019), and Xantrex charger provide reliable onboard power. Tankage is substantial: 190 gallons of diesel fuel, 140 gallons of fresh water, and a 20-gallon holding tank. Navigation and communication equipment includes a Raymarine 12-inch chartplotter, 18-inch radar, Icom VHF radio, autopilot, and depth sounder. The boat carries a 12-foot Stryker center-console dinghy with 30-horsepower Mercury outboard, plus a full ground tackle setup with electric windlass, chain, and stainless steel rode.
