The 1973 Bertram 28 is a 28-foot fiberglass walkaround with an 11-foot beam, powered by twin PleasureCraft gasoline engines logged at 856 hours. Recent work includes a complete rebuild and reinstallation of the starboard engine, new trim tabs, new pump and controls, fresh batteries, and zincs. The hull received sandblasting and two coats of antifoulant last year. The swim platform has new brackets and a new ladder.
The boat comes equipped with a Bimini top, life preservers, and a throw ring. Interior work underway includes two drawer replacements that remain to be finished. Battery box assembly and installation are pending, as is installation of the new controls and instruments. The props have been reconditioned and are ready to be reinstalled on the shafts.
This Bertram represents a project in progress. Several systems and components have been refreshed or rebuilt, while finishing work on the cabin interior and engine instrumentation remains to be completed. Anyone considering this boat should evaluate the scope of final assembly and testing needed to bring all systems fully online.
