1974 Camper & Nicholsons Center Cockpit

This 48-foot center cockpit ketch was built by Camper & Nicholsons in 1974. The fiberglass hull measures 12 feet across the beam and is powered by sail, with a Perkins diesel engine for auxiliary propulsion. The center cockpit design provides commanding sightlines and seamless communication between the helm and crew working forward.

Below deck, the yacht offers two cabins and two heads, with layout and accommodations typical of serious cruising sailboats of the era. The ketch rig—with its two masts and divided canvas plan—provides flexibility in sail handling and the ability to maintain way in heavy conditions with reduced canvas.
