This 1976 Cheoy Lee 42 is a fiberglass sailing yacht built to endure. The hull combines robust fiberglass construction with teak and marine-grade metals, reflecting the builder's reputation for quality. At 42 feet with a 12-foot beam, the yacht balances seaworthiness with comfortable proportions for extended cruising. The design offers solid performance under sail, with a steady balance between speed and stability suited to long passages and variable conditions.
Below deck, the accommodation spans three cabins arranged for cruising or live-aboard use. The saloon is spacious with a full galley, navigation station, and ample storage throughout. Double berths provide sleeping quarters, and deck space above allows comfortable movement for sail handling and relaxation.
The yacht has undergone substantial systems work and upgrades. The Perkins 4-108 diesel was rebuilt in 2010 and runs 780 hours; the engine was last rebuilt in 2001. A Borg Warner transmission with Waller V-Drive provides propulsion. The heads were rebuilt in 2021 with a new toilet. Plumbing and electrical systems were updated during a 2021 refit that included galley and refrigerator work. The deck was repainted in January. Three solar panels support power generation, supplemented by updated batteries. Navigation equipment includes an updated autopilot and electronics newly installed. The sails remain the original set from the current owners' purchase. Two water tanks in stainless steel, a 40-gallon fuel tank, and a black water tank renewed in 2021 complete the tank provisions. Four bronze portlights and three-blade bronze propellers are fitted.
