The Californian 42 LRC is a traditional trawler built on a solid fiberglass hull with a long keel for excellent tracking and directional control. Twin Perkins turbocharged diesels rated at 185 horsepower each power the boat, backed by a 7.5-kilowatt Onan generator. The hull has been freshly painted with new bottom paint and anodes applied in 2025, and the topsides received new decking paint the same year.
The interior is arranged with two staterooms and two heads, each with separate stall showers. The master stateroom has two double berths, while the VIP stateroom features stacked single berths. Teak and holly flooring runs throughout, with teak and mahogany cabinetry and woodwork. The galley sits up and includes a Princess three-burner electric range with oven, a microwave, double stainless sink with spray nozzle, and substantial storage. A bright salon opens to windows on three sides and features new furniture. Both heating and air conditioning are installed.
Deck spaces include a mid-level area and a flybridge, each with bimini covers and built-in seating. Wide side decks with teak cap rails provide easy access to bow and stern. Additional features include an electric windlass with fluke anchor, canvas dodgers, snap-on sun shade screening added in 2025, a fiberglass swim platform with fold-down ladder, and port and starboard cabin doors. The boat carries 500 gallons of fuel and 175 gallons of fresh water.
