This 1979 Custom Chaparral center console has been extensively rebuilt as a dedicated offshore fishing platform. The 24-foot fiberglass hull was gutted and converted from its original fisherman configuration, with a new custom transom installed to accommodate a 300 hp Yamaha outboard engine capable of 36 knots. A tuna tower crowns the design, and the boat carries 14 rod holders, three kill boxes, and a 40-gallon bait tank alongside its 125-gallon fuel capacity.
The electronics package is comprehensive for serious fishing work. Simrad autopilot handles navigation, while primary navigation relies on a Furuno NXT 48-mile radar, Furuno TZT12f chartplotter with C-Map, and additional Furuno 582L fishfinder. A Sionyx night vision system, AIS transceiver, Standard Horizon radio with external speaker, and 285 HLW Airmar CHIRP transducer round out the suite. Trim tabs assist handling in varied sea states.
The rebuild included new wiring throughout, AMG batteries, fresh paint on the hull and bottom, and a full custom cover. The boat has been stored on a hydro-hoist, keeping the fiberglass protected from the elements. Refits and upgrades were completed approximately three years ago.
