The Ericson 36RH is a classic racer-cruiser built around Ron Holland's performance-oriented 1980s hull design. At 35.5 feet overall with an 11.83-foot beam, this fiberglass yacht balances respectable speed with comfortable cruising accommodation. The keel can be reduced to 6.2 feet draft if needed. A new Yanmar 3YM20 diesel engine with 22 horsepower was installed in 2024 and has only 32.5 hours of runtime. The yacht carries 15 gallons of fuel, 20 gallons of fresh water, and a 15-gallon holding tank.
Below deck, there is one cabin with a convertible settee that converts to a double berth, one head with shower wand, and full headroom of 6 feet 2 inches. The galley includes a stove with oven and an ice box with Dometic refrigeration. A navigation station is positioned for easy access. Four opening ports with screens and two deck hatches provide ventilation. The head was updated in 2024 with a new electric Jabsco model. Recent upgrades include new sink and counter cabinetry in the head.
The sailing inventory is substantial: a battened Mylar mainsail, 150-percent Mylar genoa, number 2 jib, and 0.75 symmetrical spinnaker, plus a ferling genoa system with Schafer 2-Trac. A spinnaker pole and whisker pole are included. The mast carries rod rigging with a hydraulic backstay (hose feed replaced 2022), and winches include two primary 28ST Barient winches, two secondary number 25s, and two cabin top number 23s. The boom has three reefs and was refinished.
Electronics include a 2024 Raymarine i70s multi display as primary GPS, with backup ST50 and Multiview displays. Raymarine 4000 autopilot, depth and speed instruments, VHF with handheld GPS, and Ritchie compass complete the navigation suite. Two batteries installed in 2020 connect to a three-port charger. Stereo with Bluetooth speakers, interior and exterior, and a flatscreen TV are installed. A 2024 navy Sunbrella bimini with rails, newly painted AWLGrip Flag Blue hull, 48-inch stainless wheel, dripless stuffing box, and Flex-o-fold two-blade propeller were all added or upgraded recently. The boat includes a 2019 Marine Cradle Shop cradle with feet, winter tarp, 25-pound Danforth anchor with chain and 200 feet of rode, swim ladder, and cockpit table with LED lighting. A tether and harness and bosun chair are aboard for safety.
