1981 Pearson 530

This 1981 Pearson 530 is a fiberglass ketch designed by William Shaw for serious cruising performance. At 53 feet with a 14-foot beam, the boat combines the capacity needed for extended passages with the handling characteristics of its two-masted rig. A Yanmar engine provides auxiliary power for when winds fail.

The layout includes two cabins and two heads, arranged to accommodate cruising crews comfortably. The ketch configuration offers flexibility in sail combinations, allowing the boat to maintain control and balance across a wide range of wind conditions.

The yacht underwent a refit in 2020, bringing systems and structure current for offshore work. Relatively few 530s were built, making this example of the design uncommon in the current market.
