The 1986 Pan Oceanic 38 is a Ted Brewer design built for serious offshore sailing. The fiberglass hull features a full keel for excellent directional stability and tracking, paired with a deep, secure cockpit and timeless cruising lines. An Isuzu 50 hp diesel engine provides auxiliary power for this 37-foot yacht.
The interior layout supports extended living aboard, with a queen master berth, V-berth, galley with three-burner gimbaled propane stove and oven, and one head. Accommodations include cabin fans, LED lighting throughout, foam mattresses, and refrigeration with both freezer and refrigerator units. A Garmin ECHOMAP chartplotter, VHF radio, SSB, and CPT autopilot handle navigation and watchkeeping.
Recent work has been substantial. The engine was rebuilt in 2024 and includes serviced alternator, heat exchanger, starter, and rebalanced propeller. Hull and deck sides received fresh paint in 2025. The propulsion system has a new cutlass bearing, repacked stuffing boxes, and a balanced prop shaft with drive coupler. New bronze through-hulls with seacocks, updated rigging including four lower shrouds and turnbuckles, and a rebuilt rudder with new bearing address core systems.
The boat carries a Maxwell VW1000 windlass with foot switches, 230 feet of 3/8-inch anchor chain, and three anchors. Electrical systems include four 115 Ah house batteries plus one 100 Ah starter battery, a 240-watt solar array with charge controller, shore power charger, and inverter. Sails comprise mainsail, genoa, staysail, gennaker with sock, and storm jib. Aries wind vane steering, Isotherm refrigeration, Jabsco water pump, and bimini framework for solar and dinghy motor hoist complete the setup. Tools, spare parts, and provisions including fenders, mooring lines, and life jackets are included.
