This 1989 Fairey Spearfish MKIII is a 30-foot deep-V motor yacht designed by Alan Burnard. Twin Sabre 225hp six-cylinder diesel engines power the boat, which is built on a fiberglass hull measuring 9 feet 3 inches in beam. The design delivers the sea-keeping and performance the Spearfish line is known for.
The interior includes a single cabin with one head. Navigation and electronics comprise an Autohelm ST50 Tridata and Compass, MLR FX412 GPS, Raymarine Axiom 9 plotter, and Nasa Marine SX35 VHF with DSC. An Eberspacher 12-volt diesel heater and Sterling Marine battery charger are installed. The boat carries a 24.5-pound CQR anchor with galvanized chain and nylon warp.
Recent work has been extensive. The hull was shot-blasted and Coppercoat antifoul applied in October 2023. Engine upgrades completed in 2025 include new intercoolers, turbos, Morse cables, and exhaust. New header tank and four 12-volt batteries were also fitted in 2025. Full engine service history is documented from 2019 onwards, with approximately £23,750 spent on maintenance and upgrades across that period. An August 2023 survey accompanies the boat.
A road-legal trailer (serviced in 2022) is included. Cockpit and camper covers are provided. The boat has been stored inside an insulated barn seasonally under current ownership.
