The 1989 Island Packet 35 is a 35-foot fiberglass cruising sailboat powered by a Yanmar 3HM35F diesel engine with 230 hours on a complete rebuild. The boat cruises at 6.5 knots and features a 12-foot beam, offering proven seaworthiness and comfortable offshore capability.
Below deck, two cabins and one head provide accommodation for cruising couples or small families. The galley includes a Force 10 stove and oven combo, microwave, and a newer galley faucet. A reverse cycle air conditioning system, water heater, and shower sump support extended comfort. The cabin has new lighting and fans throughout. Navigation and communication equipment includes a Garmin 840xs GPS, Raymarine ST8001 autopilot with depth sounder, two VHF radios, and an Epirb.
The yacht has undergone substantial recent maintenance and upgrades. New Neil Pryde main and genoa sails were installed in January 2026, along with dinghy davits. The engine was completely rebuilt with new pistons, rings, valves, fuel pump, and motor mounts. Standing rigging was replaced in 2021 and chain plates in 2019. The hull received an epoxy barrier coat in 2020 and has had extensive bottom work with ablative paint, new transom thru-hulls in stainless steel, new cutlass bearing, and drive shaft zincs. All deck seams and chain plate areas were resealed in April 2026. Water systems, hose runs, and plumbing throughout the boat have been renewed or rebuilt. The 55-pound Mantus anchor is paired with 135 feet of chain and an electric windlass.
Power generation comes from a Phaser 6.5 kw generator with 120 hours of use. Three AGM batteries feed a Xantrex 1500W inverter and 75A charger. A Sunbrella bimini top provides shade in the cockpit.
