The Island Packet 40 is a 40-foot fiberglass cruiser built in 1995. This model succeeded the IP38 with a refined hull design that extended the waterline, paired with increased sail area and larger fuel and water capacity. The combination yields improved seakeeping characteristics, extended range, and more practical storage for extended cruising.

Powered by a Yanmar diesel engine, the yacht was designed with the priorities of safety and comfort at its core. The longer waterline and increased displacement contribute to stable motion in a seaway, while the added tankage supports longer passages without resupply. The additional sail area complements the auxiliary engine for efficient passage-making under varied conditions.
