1996 Hatteras 50 Sport Deck Motor Yacht

The 1996 Hatteras 50 Sport Deck is a fiberglass motor yacht powered by twin Detroit Diesel 6V92 TA engines rated at 535 horsepower each, delivering a maximum speed of 22 knots and a cruising speed of 17 knots. The engines have logged 428 hours each, and the 14 kW Onan generator has 329 hours. Twin fuel tanks hold 622 gallons total capacity. Twin disc transmissions, dripless shafts, trim tabs, and an electric anchor windlass are fitted for smooth operation and handling.

The accommodations center on two cabins, each with an ensuite head. The owner's stateroom aft features a centerline walkaround queen berth with vanity, a large cedar-lined walk-in closet, and a head with shower and Vacu-Flush toilet. The forward guest cabin holds a centerline queen berth with under-bunk drawers, and its own head with shower. The main salon offers 6'6" headroom and seating for six, with entertainment system and large windows. A U-shaped galley to port includes full-size refrigerator, two-burner cooktop, microwave, and substantial counter and cabinet storage. The dinette to starboard seats four to six and can convert to a bunk. A stacked washer and dryer occupy the guest cabin foyer.

The raised aft deck, enclosed with isinglass panels, spans the full beam with 7 feet of headroom and opens to a swim platform with shower. The enclosed bridge deck above sits 4 steps up with 7'3" headroom and accommodates eight with pedestal helm chairs and settees. Navigation electronics include Furuno radar, North Star chart plotter, VHF radio, Simrad autopilot, Ritchie compass, and depth and knot-speed instruments. The foredeck carries an integrated teak and fiberglass pulpit with electric anchor windlass controlled from the bridge.

Climate control is provided by a 24K BTU main system and two 16K BTU zone systems. A halon fire suppression system, three Rule 2000 bilge pumps with float switches, and four 8D batteries support safety and redundancy. A new 50-amp 50-foot shore power cable is included. The engine room offers 5'7" headroom and clean, accessible working space on both sides of the engines.
