This 33-foot Dawson Express is a diesel-powered sportfisher built in New Jersey for serious offshore fishing, yet designed with enough comfort and amenities for family use. Twin Cummins 370B diesel engines with approximately 700 hours deliver 370 horsepower each, cruising at 22 knots and reaching 25 knots at top speed. The hull features a comfortable ride with excellent visibility and a generous cockpit layout suited to both fishing and entertaining.
The fishing platform is well-equipped with a tower and controls under soft top, power engine hatch lift, in-deck lift-out fish box, live well, and comprehensive rod storage including 9 gunwhale rod holders and 10 rocket launchers. Deck features include a Lewmar windlass, single spreader outriggers, three color underwater lights, Revere 6-man life raft certified to 2025, and synthetic teak cockpit flooring. The bridge deck offers a bench helm with leaning pad and a U-shaped companion seat that converts to dinette and lounge, plus a bait freezer.
Below deck, the traditional cabin layout includes an angled forward berth, galley to port with two-burner electric Force 10 stove and Norcold refrigerator-freezer, and a fully enclosed head with shower and electric toilet. The interior is reported clean with no odors. Electronics are comprehensive, featuring dual Garmin GPSMap 8612 touchscreen displays, Garmin Panoptics fishfinder, Garmin Open Array radar, and Garmin autopilot. An Entec West 4kw diesel generator, Marine Air HVAC, hydraulic steering, and trim tabs round out the mechanical systems. The bronzepropellers were reconditioned in 2022 and the strut cutlass bearing was replaced the same year.
