2001 Hinckley Picnic Boat 36 Classic

This 2001 Hinckley Picnic Boat 36 is a composite-hulled express cruiser built with a Kevlar E-glass hybrid and balsa core, finished in jet black topsides with cream cabinhouse and green bottom. Powered by a 2001 Yanmar 420-horsepower diesel engine paired with a Hamilton jet drive, the boat features a Jet Stick control system integrated with a Vetus 7-inch bow thruster for responsive maneuvering. The deck and cockpit showcase molded-in nonskid, varnished teak toe rail and eyebrow molding, stainless steel railings and mooring cleats, and a fiberglass swim platform with teak inserts and stainless folding ladder.

The spacious pilothouse and open cockpit are designed for entertaining and day cruising. The pilothouse holds dual-facing seating, four opening and fixed windows with wipers and washers, and a recessed helm station with a stainless wheel, engine gauges, and integrated autopilot. The cockpit includes a four-bow bimini with mosquito netting enclosure, varnished teak coaming cap, multiple storage lockers, and fishing rod holders. Recent navigation upgrades include a Raymarine multifunction radar and chartplotter with depth sounder, DSC VHF radio, and a Robertson AP-22 autopilot with rate sensor.

Below deck, accommodations include a V-berth forward with adapter to form a double berth, private head with shower and Vacu-flush toilet, and a port galley fitted with a Force 10 two-burner stove, Grunert 12-volt refrigeration, stainless steel sink with hot and cold pressure water. Interior finishes feature satin-varnished cherry sheathing and a varnished teak and holly cabin sole. Climate control includes forced-air heating and air conditioning throughout.

In 2023, the boat underwent comprehensive refurbishment: the engine was completely overhauled with engine compartment refresh and repaint, the bottom received soda blasting and new paint, and synthetic teak decks were installed. A new windlass anchor with bow pulpit, exterior cushions, and updated chart plotter and VHF radio were added. Electronics and systems include 12-volt and 110-volt electrical panels, 80-amp alternator, 30-amp battery charger, electric bilge pumps with float switches, and an emergency manual bilge pump.
