The 2012 BlackJack 224 is a center console built for fishing and performance. Its design combines a flared bow with a tumble home transom to deliver a smooth, dry ride in varied conditions. The hull features a 15-degree deadrise with four lifting strakes and a pocket transom for improved hole shot and shallow-water capability. Construction is entirely composite—hand-laid fiberglass with foam-filled stringers and a 3-inch-thick transom—with no wood to rot.
Power comes from a Yamaha V-Max SHO 4-stroke 250 hp engine with 253 hours of service time, less than 100 hours of which were in saltwater. The engine has been consistently flushed and rinsed after use. A jack plate with a Rhodan 80-pound bow motor offers GPS anchoring and positioning via handheld remote. Navigation and fish-finding equipment includes a 12-inch Lowrance Elite GPS and sonar unit, complemented by a Boss stereo. Trim tabs and a digital multi-function gauge package round out the controls.
The boat includes a Bimini top, reboarding ladder, aluminum leaning post, and wide gunwales fitted with Burt tracks and rod holders. Below-deck, there are livewells and a fish and ice box, with ample storage throughout. A Power Pole, Minnkotta battery charger, and removable windscreen are also aboard. The boat comes with an aluminum I-beam tandem trailer fitted with load guides.
