The American Tug 435 is a semi-displacement coastal trawler built in fiberglass with the distinctive tugboat styling and raised pilothouse that define the breed. At 43 feet 7 inches with a beam of 15 feet 10 inches, she displaces approximately 29,200 pounds and is powered by a single 500-horsepower Cummins diesel engine with just 450 hours of operation. Designed by Lynn Senour and built by Tomco Marine Group, this 2015 model carries CE Class A ocean certification and cruises at 8–10 knots with a range of 1,500–1,800 nautical miles, reaching maximum speeds near 16–17 knots. Electric bow and stern thrusters provide capable maneuverability.
The accommodations center on two staterooms and two heads. The master stateroom amidships spans the full beam with a walkaround queen and an ensuite head featuring a separate shower. The forward guest stateroom was special-ordered with a single berth and day head. The raised pilothouse offers commanding sight lines with a centerline helm seat and a substantial settee to port that serves as a watch berth. The saloon aft includes an L-shaped settee with dining table, while the galley to port is U-shaped and fitted with a stovetop, refrigerator-freezer, convection microwave, and full counter and storage space.
A Northern Lights 9kW generator with 469 hours, inverter-charger, and substantial storage round out the equipment list. The boat features an upper deck with an 800-pound davit and chocks for a tender. The fiberglass hull is solid below the waterline with cored construction above for strength and insulation. Fuel capacity is 640 gallons.
