This 2015 steel motorsailer was built and operated for eight years as a research vessel in Svalbard. At 49 feet overall length with a 13.5-foot beam and 1.85-meter draft, the boat combines sailing capability with diesel-powered range. The hull is rated for unlimited cruising (Cruising Area A), with a 26-ton displacement and 76 square meters of sail area.
The yacht accommodates four cabins — two single and two double — plus a galley equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, water boiler, dual refrigerators, and freezer. There is one electric head and a secure weapons safe. A deck saloon provides the main living area. Tankage includes 900 liters of diesel, 600 liters of fresh water, and 80 liters of blackwater capacity.
Power comes from a single VETUS-DEUTZ DTA66635A diesel engine rated at 206 horsepower, paired with a Vetus BOW PRO bow thruster. A 4-kilowatt COLEMO/Kubota generator provides auxiliary power. Additional equipment includes hydraulic steering at inside and outside helm positions, a hydraulic crane, dual diesel air heaters, a wind generator, and an air compressor. Ground tackle comprises two 33-kilogram Rocna anchors with 100 meters of chain and a Lofrans windlass with remote controls.
Navigation and electronics are comprehensive: Simrad NSS12 e3 chartplotter, R2009 radar with Halo 20+ radome, A2004 autopilot, HS70 GPS compass, Garmin 720s, VHF/AiS transceiver, wind instrument, Navtex terminal, and multiple depth sounders including forward-scanning transducers. A Plastimo Transocean 6 lifeboat and ACR EPIRB with float-free mount are installed. The boat carries a QuickSilver tender with 20-horsepower Yamaha outboard. A heavy-duty adjustable steel cradle with 30-ton capacity (dismountable for 20-foot container transport) is included.
