2017 Ranger RT178C

The 2017 Ranger RT178C is a 17.67-foot aluminum runabout built around serious fishing capability. Powered by a single Mercury 60 hp outboard, the boat combines a broad 7.67-foot beam with a responsive, nimble setup that works for everything from crappie to panfish to larger species. The design emphasizes room and access: the lower front and rear decks sit on a continuous plane for easy movement from bow to stern, and three-across pedestal seating on the front deck keeps multiple anglers comfortable and positioned for casting.

Storage and tackle organization are central to the layout. An oversized front livewell pairs with a removable cooler, while an 8.5-foot rod box runs the port side with individual rod tubes and handle grips. Drop-in tackle trays, gear storage, and tool holders keep essentials within reach. A second large aerated livewell aft features a free-flow divider, splash guard, and automatic timer. Below the cockpit and across the rear deck sit additional stowage compartments.

The console houses Lowrance electronics and standard instrumentation for speed, tach, fuel, and trim. Premium marine upholstery, integrated drink holders, a 12-volt power outlet, and a Minn Kota trolling motor round out the amenities. The hull features all-aluminum floors and decks, upright and level flotation, and tie cleats with rod straps on the front deck for secure rigging.
