The 2018 Ranger Z518 is an 18-foot 8-inch bay boat built on the Z Comanche platform, designed for serious fishing. Powered by a single 150-horsepower Mercury engine, it combines performance with fuel economy in a compact, trailerable package. The fiberglass hull spans nearly 8 feet wide, providing a solid platform for both open water and shallow-water work.
The layout prioritizes fishing functionality. An oversized casting deck forward offers extensive room and includes two large rod lockers capable of holding rods up to 8 feet. The offset console is sized to accommodate large-format electronics and features membrane-style switches and gauges. A padded casting platform sits at the bow, with a recessed trolling motor pedal integrated into the deck. Amidships, an in-deck gel-coated cooler and a tournament-sized livewell handle storage and bait management.
Standard equipment reflects tournament-level thinking. The boat includes a Lowrance Ghost trolling motor, Lowrance HDS 9 display at the bow, Lowrance HDS 12 display at the console, a Power Pole 8-foot shallow-water anchor, LED navigation lights, and integrated tool holders throughout. L.E.D. navigation lighting and a custom-matched Ranger Trail trailer with brakes round out the package. A spare tire is included with the trailer.
