The 2020 Cobalt 206 is a 21-foot bowrider built on a deep-V hull using Cobalt's proprietary Hydrolam construction. The hull incorporates multiple layers of Kevlar and heavy woven roving for structural strength and durability, combined with a reversed chine that deflects water to promote a dry ride and stable handling in turns. Power comes from a Mercruiser 5.7L gasoline engine.

The layout centers on wraparound bow seating with deep storage and a built-in ice cooler. The captain's seat features a flip-lip design that allows the driver to see over the windshield. A walk-through transom provides access to the stern activity platform, where a concealed boarding ladder serves swimmers and skiers.
