2020 Cobalt R5 Surf

The 2020 Cobalt R5 Surf is a 25-foot bowrider built around wake surfing. It features a single 380-horsepower V8 engine with forward-drive configuration and is equipped with an electronic surf tab system and rigid multi-tank ballast setup to generate waves on demand. The hull incorporates Kevlar reinforcement, a composite transom and stringers, and an extended running surface for smooth water handling.

The boat's interior balances comfort with functionality. Seating includes an extended bow with cushioned inserts, a captain's helm chair, passenger seat with flip backrest, aft-facing rumble seat, and a convertible sundeck lounger. The head compartment includes a porta potti and skylight. Flooring throughout uses snap-in seagrass material with neoprene backing, and removable carpet covers the bow and cockpit areas.

The helm showcases a color-matched aluminum dash with a composite eyebrow and stainless steel accents. Navigation and monitoring are handled by a Garmin 7607 glass cockpit display alongside a depth and water temperature package. The audio system includes Bluetooth connectivity, six speakers, an iPod/USB/MP3 port, and remote controls at both the dash and transom.

The boat is outfitted with practical water-sport equipment: wakeboard racks, a mounted ski pylon, stainless steel platform with flip-down swim step, fender clips with lines, anchor locker, and perimeter rails. An arch with stainless steel and aluminum construction provides a sunshade. Safety features include manual fire extinguisher, ignition switch, and battery protection. The hull employs a composite floor with a fiberglass cockpit liner and stringer system for structural integrity.
