The 2022 Ranger RT178 is a 17-foot, 8-inch aluminum bay boat built to the same standards as Ranger's larger models. Its .100" hull is filled with sound-deadening foam flotation and finished with all-aluminum welded decks and transom. The wide 7-foot beam provides stable footing across the boat, aided by broad beam design and 1½-inch strakes on the bottom. Marine-grade carpet throughout and premium vinyl upholstery complement an all-aluminum construction that keeps the boat light and durable.
Storage and tackle organization are central to the layout. An 8-foot port rod locker, three tackle-specific compartments, and an oversized center storage box give anglers room for gear. The recessed trolling motor foot pedal integrates cleanly into the deck, while a retractable rod strap and lockable rod storage keep rods secure. Four tie cleats and passenger grab handles support safe movement around the boat.
The console is fully featured and compact, designed to hold electronics up to 12 inches with a cantilevered layout that maximizes cockpit space. Standard equipment includes a Lowrance Hook-2 4X GPS, Minn Kota Edge 45 trolling motor with 6-gauge harness, deep cycle battery with tray, lithium-capable 6A x 2 bank charger, automatic bilge pump, and 12V outlet. Gauges, power trim, no-feedback steering, and a flush-mounted remote throttle control round out the helm setup.
A custom Ranger Trail single-axle trailer with swing jack, swing-away tongue, and retractable tie-downs is included. The trailer features aluminum directional wheels, a spare wheel, leaf spring axle, integrated load guides, and waterproof lights. The boat is available in eight colors: white, crystal red, charcoal metallic, midnight blue, carbon, and two fusion electra options.
