This 2023 Cobalt R8 is a 27.8-foot bowrider built on a fiberglass Deep Vee hull. It's powered by a single Volvo 380 horsepower inboard/outboard engine with a stainless steel four-blade propeller, backed by only 55 hours of operation. The boat combines performance-oriented design with accommodations scaled up from the earlier R Series lineup—the hull stretches to nearly 28 feet, with increased freeboard and a redesigned interior that expands both the bow and cockpit areas.

The layout centers on open bow and cockpit zones with room for passengers and gear storage. A full head is fitted with a porcelain toilet, vanity, and light. The deck plan balances sunbathing and seating with practical functionality across the extended footprint.

The color scheme pairs a graphite hull sides with a white bottom and white deck, complemented by light gray interior cushions and light gray seagrass snap-down carpeting. Equipment includes dual Garmin multifunction displays, an upgraded stereo system, a black aluminum arch, cockpit heating, underwater lights, and a bow sun shade.
