The Makaira Gen 3 36 is a 36-foot aluminum cruiser built in New Zealand with a Carolina-flared hull designed for offshore capability. Twin Mercury 400hp V10 Verados paired with a 40hp Mercury kicker engine deliver the power and efficiency needed for serious bluewater work. The boat accommodates six people, including a private queen cabin forward, supported by extended cruising systems and full amenities throughout.

The wheelhouse features a Mercury JPO Joystick system, a single-piece curved toughened glass windscreen, and dual sliding side windows. Navigation and fish-finding electronics include a 22-inch Garmin chart plotter, dual Garmin sounders with thru-hull transducers, a 12-inch Garmin second station, Garmin VHF radio with International+ aerial, Garmin AIS transceiver, and a Garmin GMR Fantom 24x radar. A Fusion stereo system with multiple speakers and a Seakeeper Ride 600 gyro complete the integrated systems.

The cabin interior features a Tecma Silent Flush toilet, a diesel heater, a Wallas 87D diesel oven and stove combo, and a 12-volt Dometic refrigerator. Fresh water capacity is 79 gallons, and the boat carries a 30-gallon black water tank. Lighting runs throughout the vessel: LED interior and gunnel strips, flood lights on the bow rail, navigation lights, and Lumitec underwater lights. The cockpit includes a shower, electric gunwale reels with dual downriggers, and raised seats with a custom dining table.

Power management relies on a Victron lithium battery system featuring three LifePO4 batteries with smart monitoring, solar panels rated at 370 watts each, and an inverter-charger setup with shore power capability. The hull is painted Petrol Blue with Matterhorn White superstructure and wheelhouse, and the cockpit includes a cover, knee and shoulder roll cushions, and leather seating throughout.
