The Great Harbour N40 is a 40-foot fiberglass trawler built for extended cruising and liveaboard life. Twin Yammer diesel engines deliver 114 hp each, with a cruising speed of 7.25 knots and a maximum speed of 8.25 knots. The hull carries a full 16-foot beam down to the waterline, creating interior volumes comparable to much larger vessels. The design emphasizes full 360-degree walkaround decks for line handling, a substantial rubbing strake, and shallow draft protected running gear suited for gunkholing and exploring without grounding risk.
Accommodations include two staterooms with a 60-by-80-inch island queen berth in the master, plus one head. The galley is equipped with home-sized appliances including a 23-cubic-foot refrigerator and freezer. A walk-in engine room provides six feet of standing headroom at a built-in workbench with accessible space around both engines. Below the main saloon sits a 16-by-5-by-5-foot Bosun's Locker for stowing bicycles, dive gear, golf clubs, and other cruising equipment. Mahogany cabinetry throughout is crafted in-house.
The trawler features lifetime composite fuel and water tanks, a 24-volt proportional bow thruster with hold function, and a standard electric toilet with 100-gallon holding tank and overboard discharge capability. LED lighting is installed throughout. An optional solar array can be added to the coach roof to power refrigeration, lighting, entertainment, and air conditioning on good weather days while maintaining battery charge. A flybridge model (N40FB) is available as an alternative.
