The 2026 Ranger RT178 is a 17-foot 8-inch aluminum runabout built for fishing and built to last. Its .100-inch hull incorporates sound-deadening foam flotation throughout, delivering a smooth, stable ride across varying water conditions. The boat uses the same construction methods as Ranger's larger models, scaled to a manageable size that fits in a garage.

The layout prioritizes fishing functionality. An 8-foot port-side rod locker, recessed trolling motor foot pedal, and three dedicated tackle storage compartments keep gear organized and accessible. An oversized center storage box adds capacity, while rugged all-weather marine-grade carpet and premium vinyl upholstery cover the deck and seating. The ultra-wide deck and cockpit provide stability and room for multiple anglers.

The console is fully featured with space for electronics up to 12 inches, standard gauges, and a cantilevered design that maximizes comfort and sight lines. A single 75-horsepower Mercury Marine gasoline engine powers the boat.
