1892 De Vries Lentsch steel displacement

This 1892 steel motor yacht was designed by Dutch naval architect Gerard De Vries Lentsch and represents a remarkable example of historic yacht construction. The 86-foot displacement hull reflects the classic long-range cruising design principles of the late 19th century, with a 15-foot beam and canoe stern. A single MAN 6-cylinder diesel engine rated at 510 horsepower provides cruising speeds of 10 knots and a maximum speed of 13 knots.

The yacht accommodates four cabins and three heads, arranged to balance period character with livable comfort. The interior preserves the romantic aesthetic of the original 1892 construction while incorporating modern amenities for extended cruising.

The yacht underwent major renovation at Amsterdam's Het Fort shipyard in 1979 and received its most comprehensive refit at Vatasa in Spain between 1987 and 1989. During that two-year overhaul, the romantic character of the original build was carefully maintained. The diesel engine was upgraded in 2015 to the current MAN powerplant. The yacht's design and proven seakeeping qualities have made it suitable for both Atlantic and Mediterranean cruising, with a history of extended voyages along the French Riviera and beyond.
