A 1924 Morris 30 Commuter Launch built in Hamilton, Ontario, this mahogany motor boat represents the craftsmanship of the Morris Boat Works during the classic era of wooden lake cruising. The boat is powered by a Kermath Sea Prince engine producing 85 horsepower, which was installed in 1932 and underwent a complete rebuild in 1984. The wooden hull measures 30 feet in length with a 6.58-foot beam, proportioned for smooth passage through Ontario's cottage country waters.
The open layout features a helm station with burgundy leather upholstery, a rear bench seat in matching leather, and four wicker chairs with leather cushions positioned throughout the cockpit. The deck is finished with carpeting, and the boat includes a canvas bimini top for weather protection. Original period hardware has been either re-chromed or replicated to match the 1920s design aesthetic.
The boat underwent extensive restoration work that included a complete new bottom build and reworking of the upper deck frames to preserve original craftsmanship. The canvas bimini top was replaced in 1986. Since the restoration was completed in the mid-1980s, the boat has been regularly maintained and operated. It comes equipped with rope weave fenders, a custom mahogany boat hook, and two custom mahogany paddles, all in good condition.
