Built in 1929 by the Hoffar-Beeching boatyard in Vancouver, this 80-foot wooden motor yacht retains the elegant character and exceptional seaworthiness of her original design. Originally commissioned for Colonel McLimont, president of Winnipeg Power and Light, she was designed specifically for comfortable cruising with outstanding viewing capabilities. The yacht is powered by twin Gardner 6LX diesel engines producing 252 horsepower, with a cruising speed of 8.5 knots and maximum speed of 10 knots.
The main deck centers on a large observation saloon and formal dining room with a forward galley, leading up two steps to a spacious pilothouse. A day head sits just aft of the pilothouse. The aft main deck opens through French doors to a covered fantail deck featuring a central teak dining table and circular seating area, with newly added Sunbrella coverings. The lower deck accommodates five cabins and three heads, professionally reconfigured over the yacht's recent ownership. Twin screws, a hydraulic bow thruster, and port and starboard pilothouse doors support easy handling and docking.
Recent maintenance includes a full marine survey and haul out completed in May 2024 with fasteners pulled and inspected to insurance standards. The hull was sanded to bare wood and completely refastened from the waterline up with galvanized steel fasteners approximately ten years ago, now bearing a white finish. The foredeck underwent refastening and recaulking through 2024 and 2025. A new battery bank of fourteen L-16s was installed in June 2023. A spare Gardner engine and copious parts inventory are available with the yacht. She has been cruised regularly for 16 to 20 weeks annually to the Broughton Islands of Northern British Columbia and is ready for immediate use.
