1930 Custom Gronigen

An 88-foot steel motor yacht built in 1930, this Gronigen-designed boat was extensively remodeled approximately 30 years ago and subsequently refitted in 1991. The hull was constructed in Holland and has logged considerable ocean miles across multiple circumnavigations.

Power comes from a single eight-cylinder Gardner diesel engine fitted with keel cooling, paired with a Thrige autopilot and Svendborg steering gear. The fuel capacity of 15 tons provides substantial range. The boat's systems are straightforward and efficient. Three heads serve the interior spaces.

The accommodation layout includes a large main hold—currently configured for storage and workshop use—that retains potential for additional conversion or customization. The hull measures 18.5 feet in beam, providing stable proportions for extended cruising. The boat operates under diesel power and is designed for both motor and sail capability.
