1947 Chris-Craft Runabout
About This Yacht
This 1947 Chris-Craft runabout is a 17-foot mahogany-hulled classic rebuilt in 1983 to accept a Ford Interceptor V-8 engine rated at 212 horsepower. The reconstruction included a reinforced keel and hull, and the bottom was entirely replaced with epoxy materials. The solid mahogany planking throughout maintains consistent grain patterns, and the original controls and gauges were rechromed during the restoration.
The cabin accommodates four adults and two children, with red vinyl upholstery in fair condition showing some wear. Storage is available beneath the bow. Equipment includes an automatic bilge pump and a motor vent fan operated from the dash. A custom canvas top provides weather protection.
The hull and deck construction is substantial, and the boat handles its power efficiently, planing at half throttle and performing well for water sports. A custom trailer built to match the restoration standards is included, featuring large wheels, full electrical wiring, and permanently lubricated axles.
