This 1947 Trumpy Raised Pilothouse is an 80-foot classic motor yacht originally designed and built as a luxury cruising vessel. Powered by twin John Deere diesel engines producing 550 horsepower, the boat features a raised pilothouse design and measures 18 feet across the beam. The wooden hull reflects the craftmanship of John Trumpy's yard, where the boat was completed and launched in Annapolis over 75 years ago.
The yacht accommodates guests across three cabins and three heads. The interior includes an aft saloon and card room, along with galley facilities and crew spaces typical of vessels built to this specification.
The current owner has undertaken extensive mechanical and structural work since acquiring the boat. Systems have been substantially renewed: twin John Deere engines were installed with custom exhaust, bow thruster and stabilizers were rebuilt, propeller shafts serviced, and all wiring replaced throughout. Engine room ventilation, fresh water systems with accumulator tanks, black water systems, and twin air conditioning units are new. Generators were installed in October 2023.
Exterior restoration has been comprehensive. Full teak decking was replaced, exterior varnish stripped and refinished in multiple coats, the transom refinished, and canvas covers fabricated for hatches and deck sections. New topside and bottom paint was applied in July 2025 following hull inspection. All asbestos has been removed. The upper deck includes new furniture and custom cabinetry built to period style. Interior updates include new galley appliances, washer and dryer, Starlink system, and refinished saloon and card room tables. Antennas have been removed to restore the original profile.
