1957 Monk Tri-Cabin

This 1957 Monk Tri-Cabin is a 45-foot wooden trawler designed by Ed Monk Sr., built with the craftsmanship that defined Pacific Northwest boatbuilding. The interior showcases mahogany, cherry, teak, and yellow cedar woodwork, with handcrafted furniture including pieces built from salvaged teak. The boat carries genuine maritime heritage and character throughout.

The single GM Detroit Diesel engine, rated at 238 hp, was rebuilt and runs clean. Major structural work has been completed in recent years, including a professionally rebuilt stern and a new bonding system installed in 2024. The boat was completely rewired, and the galley has been updated with Corian countertops and refreshed cherry woodwork. New custom mattresses were installed in 2026, and the interior received new upholstery. All updates were carried out while preserving the boat's original character and design.

The wooden hull has been maintained under cover, and the boat has been continuously cared for over the past 28 years. Major classic wooden boat projects are complete, providing solid structural integrity for continued use and enjoyment.
