A 1959 Chris-Craft Sea Skiff, this 26-foot wooden cruiser combines classic American design with reliable twin-engine power. The lapstrake hull is constructed from layered marine plywood, which eliminates the need for caulking and allows faster water absorption than traditional caravel construction. Two Hercules KL engines, each producing 105 horsepower, have been overhauled and equipped with electronic ignition and a 12-volt electrical conversion, eliminating old-style generators and points maintenance. The boat reaches 26 knots at top speed and cruises comfortably at 19 knots.
The woodwork features Philippine mahogany throughout the topsides, sealed with Epifanes varnish, paired with chrome, stainless, and brass fittings. The hull is finished in Hollandlac Marine paint matching the original Sea Skiff color scheme. Recent updates include CPES treatment applied in 2018, with Interlux bottom paint reapplied biannually. An interior upholstery refresh was completed in 2021.
Accommodations and systems reflect substantial recent investment. A full exterior enclosure and bimini were installed in 2021, along with a custom teak swim platform in 2022. The galley includes a new Iceco refrigerator-freezer, while a Raritan Marine toilet was added in 2023. A new full mooring cover and lithium-ion house battery system arrived in 2023, alongside an updated trim tab system. Electronics include a Garmin GPS/sounder and VHF radio. The boat holds 60 gallons of fuel across two tanks, 15 gallons of fresh water, and 35 gallons of black water capacity.
A Load-Rite Elite aluminum tandem-axle trailer is included, enabling seasonal haul-out and transport for shorter trips.
