1959 Rybovich Express, 2008 repower

A 1959 Rybovich Express built by John Rybovich & Sons in West Palm Beach, this 36-foot sportfish represents classic American boatbuilding at its finest. The wooden hull carries the pedigree of one of the era's most respected builders, and the boat has been maintained through decades of ownership with sustained attention to detail. Twin Cummins QSB diesel engines installed in 2008 deliver 760 horsepower combined, powering the yacht to 33 knots and cruising comfortably at 27 knots.

The 2008 repower and refit by Michael Rybovich & Sons was comprehensive: new plumbing, complete rewiring with updated electrical panel, new fuel and water tanks, deck work, through-hulls, shafts and running gear, exhaust system, trim tabs, steering, and bilge systems. All exterior brightwork was replaced or refinished, with Awlgrip topcoat applied throughout. A tuna tower was added in 2010. The single cabin includes one head and galley accommodations below.

Since the major refit, the boat has continued to receive methodical care. Garmin electronics were upgraded in 2019. A Northern Lights 6kW generator on a stainless-steel sliding mount was installed in 2023, followed by a full 1000-hour service on the Cummins engines with cooling system cleaning and hose replacement. A new keel was glassed in place in 2024 along with a complete paint and bottom job. Running gear and propeller were tuned and matched. Most recently, the cockpit teak decking was sanded, recaulked, and sealed, and the interior teak and holly sole was refinished and clear coated. The yacht remains actively used.
