1963 Hinckley Pilot 35

This 1963 Hinckley Pilot 35 represents a landmark design from the golden era of American yacht building. Designed by Sparkman & Stephens and built by Henry R. Hinckley in Southwest Harbor, Maine, the Pilot 35 combines timeless proportions with genuine offshore capability. Her full keel, sweeping sheer, and elegant overhangs define a style of cruising sailboat no longer in production.

The boat has undergone extensive restoration. The hull is finished in Awlgrip Flag Blue with cream topsides, a Fleet White boot stripe, and Corinthian Gold cove stripe. The mast and boom have been refinished in Awlgrip Fleet White, and the brightwork is meticulously maintained. The interior has been completely refinished in satin teak, preserving the original joinery while achieving a fresh appearance.

Below deck, the yacht offers two cabins and one head. Power comes from a 40 horsepower Westerbeke diesel with approximately 1,350 hours of operation. Sail handling is managed through a Schaefer roller-furling headsail, full-batten mainsail, low-friction mast track, lazy jacks, and self-tailing Lewmar primary winches.

The Pilot 35 remains equally suited to daysailing or extended coastal passages, balancing practical cruising functionality with the refined craftsmanship Hinckley was known for throughout its production.
