This 1965 Sparkman & Stephens Lotus is a 28.5-foot wooden sailboat that has received substantial structural work. The hull and deck underwent complete restoration with silicon bronze refastening in 2014, including replacement of deteriorated frames and planks. The spruce mast, spreaders, and boom were removed and refinished during this process. New stanchions, pulpits, and custom-built lifelines have been installed, and all winches have been serviced and maintained in good condition. Brass fittings including cleats and vents are cleaned and functional.
The interior requires completion: the engine bay is empty and ready for installation, and cabin accommodations need to be rebuilt. Four cabin lights—two in the forward peak and one over the engine space—will need replacement. Wiring is minimal. The boat handles well for single-handed sailing and is suited to coastal cruising in the Puget Sound, San Juan Islands, and inland Northwest waters.
The yacht is currently afloat in a covered slip and includes a full boat cover in excellent condition.
