This 1967 Spencer 42 is a fiberglass sailing yacht with a proven design known for solid construction and comfortable cruising capability. The boat is powered by a Perkins 4.107 diesel engine and maintains a cruising speed of approximately 7.5 knots. It carries a full complement of sails including main, genoa, and two spinnakers with pole, plus a recently refitted rig—the mast was pulled and repainted in 2020, and both head and main sails were repaired in 2022/2023 along with replacement of all weather protection canvas.
The layout includes two cabins with a spacious v-berth forward featuring hanging locker and drawers, and an aft cabin with additional closet storage. The single head is equipped with a composting toilet and sink. The galley is well-appointed with a gimballed stove/oven combo, refrigerated icebox, sink, and generous counter space, served by two propane tanks with remote switch.
Systems throughout the boat are well-documented with comprehensive owner-compiled manuals including diagrams, schematics, and photos. The electrical system features clearly labelled panels and a Xantrex Freedom 2000 inverter/charger for house batteries. Recent mechanical work includes a new transmission and driveline installed in 2016; engine fuel injectors replaced in 2013 at 4326 hours; and current heat exchanger rebuilt in 2022. A PSS shaft seal is fitted in place of a traditional stuffing box. Spare parts are included: starter, alternator, and heat exchanger.
