This 1970 Brownell Cuttyhunk is a classic Downeast design by Eldredge-McInnis, built with cold-molded wood construction that combines traditional craftsmanship with seaworthy performance. The hull features two diagonal layers of mahogany planking epoxied together and fiberglass-sheathed, set on white oak frames and fastened with bronze throughout. At 26 feet with a 10.5-foot beam, the boat carries dark blue hull paint, a white boot top, and green bottom, with a teak swim platform and non-skid painted decks.
Power comes from a 2014 Crusader 5.7L V8 gas engine producing 300 horsepower, installed in 2015 with approximately 150 hours of running time. The fresh water-cooled engine drives a Borg Warner Velvet Drive transmission with a bronze four-blade propeller, delivering cruising speeds around 17.5 knots and top speeds near 22 knots. Fuel capacity is 104 gallons in twin aluminum tanks.
The interior provides forward vee berths with shelving to port and starboard, plus a head positioned under the port berth. The open cockpit layout prioritizes fishing and day cruising, with easy access to the engine box and practical seating arrangements throughout. A 15-gallon holding tank completes the plumbing system.
A major restoration was completed in 2012, including rewiring with a modern 12V circuit breaker panel and new fuel and holding tanks. Recent additions include Group 27 batteries replaced in 2025, solar charging, Garmin and Standard Horizon electronics, a Fireboy suppression system, custom storage cover, LED lighting, rod racks, and mahogany boarding steps. Two Rule electric bilge pumps, Danforth anchor with chain and rode, four fenders, and mooring lines complete the equipment package.
