1970 Cheoy Lee Offshore 40

The Cheoy Lee Offshore 40 is a 40-foot fiberglass sailing yacht from 1970, designed for serious cruising. Built during the era when Cheoy Lee was pioneering fiberglass construction, this model combines a substantial hull with teak trim, decking, and joinery throughout. The boat features an iron ballast keel and carries 40 horsepower from a Perkins 4-107 diesel engine that was overhauled in 2018 with approximately 1500 hours on it. Canvas includes a battened mainsail with cover, furling genoa, spinnaker with pole, and storm jib.

Below deck, the yacht accommodates five people across three cabins: a V-berth forward, an aft cabin, and a convertible settee. A dedicated nav station and single marine head complete the sleeping quarters. The galley is equipped with a propane stove and oven, microwave, and refrigerator with ice box, plus hot and cold water service and generous storage. A nav station is positioned for passage planning.

On deck, a fully enclosed teak cockpit with bimini shade, table, and cushions provides comfortable outdoor living, backed by an aft deck and swimming ladder. Electronics include VHF radio, GPS, compass, autopilot, radar, radar detector, plotter, depthsounder, and wind meter. Recent improvements include new teak decks, stanchions, lifelines, and chainplates.
