Built in 1970 by the Greek shipyard Anastassiades & Tsortanides, this 162-foot steel-hulled expedition yacht began life as an ocean-going rescue tug before conversion to a luxury cruising platform in 2000–2002. A single 1,850 hp Caterpillar diesel engine drives the yacht to a cruising speed of 11 knots and a maximum speed of 14 knots. The robust steel hull and proven design have carried this boat through extended voyages across remote waters worldwide.
The interior was redesigned in 2019 by the French firm Charles Zana with a contemporary aesthetic that complements the yacht's classic exterior lines. The layout comprises seven staterooms and seven heads. The upper deck features a spa pool sheltered by a substantial bimini. Accommodation flows throughout the yacht balances comfort with the vessel's working heritage, creating bright and inviting spaces suitable for extended cruising.
Recent maintenance reflects a commitment to operational readiness. A full main engine rebuild and generator service were completed in 2022. In January 2023, the zero-speed stabilizers underwent service, a new shaft seal was installed, and the deck cranes were rebuilt. A comprehensive 5-year Lloyd's survey was completed in 2022. The yacht carries Polar Code designation and is equipped with GMDSS A1, A2, A3, and A4 communications systems. A touch-and-go helipad is installed on deck.
