This 1971 Grand Banks 36 is a classic sedan-bridge design with a wood hull powered by twin 120 horsepower Lehman diesel engines. The boat cruises at 8 knots and spans 36 feet in length with a 12-foot beam, offering solid seakeeping proportions for coastal and river cruising.
The interior includes two staterooms and two heads, along with one shower. The galley is equipped with a propane stove and oven. An inverter and charger system supports 12-volt DC operations, and an anchor windlass with hinged mast completes the primary systems.
Significant mechanical work was completed before arrival in Des Moines in 2020, including new AC and DC electrical systems, new through-hulls, and a complete replacement of exhaust systems on both engines. The port and starboard shafts, bearings, and couplings were also replaced. New Garmin electronics include a radar, GPS plotter, fish finder with side scan sonar. The boat spent most of its operational history on the Columbia River in Portland.
