1972 Hatteras 44 Tricabin

This 1972 Hatteras 44 Tricabin is a classic motor yacht built in fiberglass, measuring 44 feet in length with a 15-foot beam. The boat is powered by two Detroit 871 natural gas engines producing 318 horsepower each, with cruising speed of 12 knots and a maximum speed of 18 knots. A 12.5 kilowatt Westerbeke generator with 136 hours of operation provides power throughout the yacht, including three air conditioning units—two 16,000 BTU and one 24,000 BTU LG system operating on 240 volts.

The layout includes three cabins with flexible sleeping arrangements. The forward berth holds two single beds with a full head and shower nearby. The midship berth features two single berths and its own full head with shower. The aft berth contains two single beds, two closets, and built-in storage, served by a large full head with shower. The main salon opens to a galley equipped with full-size refrigerator/freezer, electric stove and oven, and microwave. The salon features a flat-screen television, updated futon, new headliner, and refreshed carpet and window treatments.

Recent work includes fresh paint on the hull and topsides, bottom paint applied in April 2023 with monthly cleaning, and replacement of all through-hulls and sea cocks. The boat carries an upper deck with custom aluminum soft top. All windows have been replaced and re-bedded. Counters in the salon, galley, and heads have been upgraded to stainless steel. The electrical systems have been comprehensively updated with new wiring throughout. Engine and generator maintenance are current with no outstanding issues noted.
