This 1972 Trumpy 62 Motorsailer is one of only two motorsailers designed and built by John Trumpy, the respected naval architect and boat builder whose Annapolis yard operated from 1947 to 1974. The boat represents a significant piece of maritime heritage, built during the final years of the Trumpy yard's operation. The wooden hull features a long keel underwater profile and measures 62 feet in length with a 17-foot beam.
The boat is powered by a single Detroit Diesel 6-71 engine producing 238 horsepower. It accommodates seven sleeping berths and is configured as a live-aboard cruising yacht suitable for extended world travel.
The boat has undergone substantial restoration work including major structural repairs to areas below the waterline and has been recently relaunched. Work remaining to complete the restoration is located above the waterline. The restoration project preserves this unique example of Trumpy craftsmanship and design.
