1972 Trumpy 72 Motor Yacht

This 1972 Trumpy 72 is one of the final motor yachts built by the legendary John Trumpy & Sons yard before the company closed in 1974. She represents the third-to-last hull produced and stands as the final example of the highly sought classic flush-deck "houseboat" motor yacht series. With a wooden hull measuring 72 feet by 18 feet, she is powered by twin Cummins diesel engines delivering 1,340 horsepower, capable of cruising at 12 knots and reaching 14 knots at full speed.

The yacht accommodates five cabins and five heads, providing comfortable sleeping and sanitary facilities throughout. Her layout follows the traditional Trumpy design philosophy that made the builder famous: sporting performance and shallow draft for maneuverability paired with thoughtfully appointed interior spaces.

In 2019, the yacht underwent an extensive refit at McMillen Yachts in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, which included fresh hull paint and modernization of her systems. She presents today with well-maintained mechanical and cosmetic condition befitting her classic stature and careful ownership history.
