1973 CUSTOM SEACRAFT Sceptre
About This Yacht
A 1973 Custom Seacraft Sceptre, this 23-foot cuddy cabin sits on the legendary Carl Moesly variable-deadrise hull that defined the Potter-built era. The design features a sharp entry forward and approximately 20 degrees of deadrise at the transom, engineered to track dry and soft through offshore chop. Original fiberglass construction, with the cuddy cabin offering dry storage and weather protection beyond the typical center console layout.
Power comes from a 2002 Yamaha 225 OX66 two-stroke with electronic fuel injection. The engine runs below 400 hours, has been recently serviced, and shows even cold compression across all six cylinders (92–96 PSI). The boat cruises at 32 knots and reaches 36 knots at speed.
The boat carries cosmetic age appropriate to its age and use—normal gelcoat wear and patina consistent with an honest, working boat rather than a restored showpiece. The mechanical package is the priority here: the engine and running gear are sorted and ready. A dual-axle aluminum trailer is included with the sale, along with a Bimini top. The boat is road-ready and can be towed or shipped as needed.
