The C&C 61 is a classic maxi-racer from 1974, designed during a pivotal era of performance sailing yacht design. Built from composite, she measures 61 feet in length with a 15-foot beam and combines the speed potential of a racing platform with the volume and strength required for extended offshore cruising. A single 136-horsepower Volvo diesel engine provides auxiliary power, with joystick control for maneuvering.
The yacht accommodates four cabins and features a thoughtfully executed interior layout that reflects her designer's ambition to merge serious racing capability with passage-making comfort. Her hull form and towering rig are engineered for performance, with cruising speeds around 6 knots and a maximum speed of 12 knots.
Between 1992 and 2002, the boat underwent an extensive decade-long refurbishment where nearly every system, surface, and structural element was rebuilt or replaced. More than $1.2 million was invested in this work, modernizing her systems and equipment while preserving her classic lines. Since completion of that refit, she has received ongoing maintenance and updates, including new sails and electronics.
