This 1974 Cheoy Lee Luders Offshore 28 is a fiberglass sailing yacht designed for ocean cruising. At nearly 28 feet with a 9-foot beam, she combines the proven seaworthiness of Alfred Luders' design with practical equipment for extended offshore passage. The boat is powered by a 25-horsepower Universal Kabota diesel engine paired with a Hurth gearbox, offering a cruising speed of 5 knots and a maximum speed of 7 knots.
The interior accommodates three cabins with one head and includes a refrigerator and diesel heating. The galley features a grill, and water and diesel tankage provide 35–40 gallons and 20 gallons respectively. Navigation equipment includes a Raymarine system, Garmin chart plotter, Furuno radar, VHF radio with AIS, and a Ritchie compass. An Aries windvane assists with self-steering, and an inflatable dinghy with a 2.5-horsepower Suzuki outboard is included.
The boat is well-equipped for safety and self-sufficiency at sea. Standing rigging is two years old, and the engine was overhauled two years ago. Sails are in excellent condition, including new hood, yankee, genoa, tri-sail, and storm jib. The waterline was sandblasted and refinished with three coats of epoxy barrier and two coats of antifouling one year ago. Additional features include self-tailing winches, slab reefing, a Simpson and Lawrence windlass, life raft, 200-watt solar panels, extensive safety equipment, and a substantial spare parts inventory.
