The 1974 Dyer 29 is a semi-displacement Down East sportfisher built for serious offshore work. Its fiberglass hull and 9'6" beam create a stable, seaworthy platform proven over decades in Northern California waters from the Bay to the Farallon Islands. The boat has been customized with a hardtop cabin for weather protection, stainless stern rail, hydraulic trim tabs, and a trolling valve. The wide stern accommodates three to five anglers and features a 180-degree fishable layout with commercial rod holders, electric downriggers, and a removable bait tank. A wooden fish-cleaning station is built in.
Power comes from a Yammer 315 hp turbo diesel installed in 2007 with approximately 1,800 hours. The engine delivers 15.5 knots at cruise and 19.5 knots at top speed. The diesel is known for reliability and efficiency at sea.
Electronics include a Koden MDC-900A radar, Furuno FCV-585 fishfinder with backup sounder, Garmin GPSMAP 541 GPS, Standard Horizon VHF, and Contest compass. Fishing gear aboard consists of two Scotty electric downriggers, five heavy-duty rod holders, a Brutus Pacific Pro electric crab puller, and removable bait tank.
Recent service work included bottom scraping and paint, zinc replacement, full diesel maintenance, systems inspection, and electronics and lighting checks. An anchor with 200 feet of line, mooring buoy, dock lines, fenders, and safety equipment are included.
